[Yotsuya Senmaida Terraced Rice Fields]
The scenery stretching from the foot of Mt. Kurakake to halfway up the hillside invites a nostalgic feel
Terraced rice fields extend across Mt. Kurakake's southwest hillside, making a patchwork of the hills. The stone walls built by piling up stones one at a time by hand continue up as far as the eye can see, and show the effort and passion of the ancestors. Spring, when the spring water from Mt. Kurakake fills the rice fields, summer, when the rice shines in beautiful lush green, autumn, when it turns golden yellow, and winter, when it is covered in snow; a different attractive landscape can be seen in each season, and at each time of the day. Come and find solace in a landscape that was selected as one of the Top 100 Terraced Rice Fields of Japan.
