[Mukaiyama Ryokuchi Plum Garden]
Early, middle and late flowering ume trees perform with the changing seasons
The finest park of ume (plum) trees in East Mikawa, on a plateau overlooking Toyohashi City. To say nothing of its enormous scale (1.3 hectares), the length of the viewing period alone is more than enough to explain why this park is considered such a must-visit destination to enjoy ume trees. Within the park grow approximately 400 early, middle and late flowering ume trees, together representing 28 different species. All the trees are about 40 years old, and visitors can enjoy watching them flower in turn over the course of about a month.
