[Tokyo Metropolis Edo-Tokyo Museum]

From Edo to Tokyo, learn about 400 years of history and culture

The museum is located next to the Ryogoku Kokugikan arena, and its elevated design is something to be remembered. Inside the museum, visitors can enjoy exhibits such as a full-scale reconstruction of the Nihonbashi Bridge, model houses with which you can come to know the lifestyles of the Edo people, and recreated scenes of festivals that the Edoites were so passionate about. The permanent exhibition room has become more simple and charming after undergoing renovations in March 2015. From Edo to Tokyo—from a world of tranquility, to the age of the Great Kanto Earthquake and air raids, to the modern world. At this museum, you can experience the changes of the times.
