[Koyama Castle Observation Deck]
A replica castle tower with an amazing view and ties to Takeda Shingen
In 1568, Takeda Shingen built a fortress as a base camp for his invasion of Totomi Province, and three years later, he gave it a castle structure and named it Koyama Castle. The castle was destroyed as a result of a fierce battle with Tokugawa Ieyasu, but the area was recently turned into Nomanjiyama Park, and Koyama Castle Observation Deck was built there. Historical artifacts from the town and items with ties to the Takeda family are on display in the castle, and the observation deck commands a spectacular view. In addition, invaluable remains of the castle can be found in the surrounding area, such as triple moats and crescent-shaped moats.
Koyama Castle Observation Deck is built on the ruins of the castle's sannomaru, where it is said that there was once an observatory.
