[Shizuoka Prefectural Yoshida Park]

An oasis full of flowers and green that lots of living things share in harmony

This vast park was built on the former venue of Shizuoka Ryokkasai Festival, which was held in 2001. The park grounds are some 14.3 ha in size, and have areas with different themes, such as the arboretum Yasuragi no Niwa and the biodiverse Biotop Pond. With these and other areas, visitors can enjoy a variety of natural landscapes. This park is also renowned for being one of the best places in Shizuoka to enjoy flowers. Hydrangeas, cosmoses, sunflowers—seasonal flowers are in bloom throughout the park. In late March, some 100,000 colorful tulips welcome the visitors.
