Shizuoka Station

[Nihondaira Yume Terrace]

Attracting attention is Nihondaira's observatory, a new must-see spot in Shizuoka

Nihondaira Yume Terrace is a new sightseeing spot that opened at the top of Nihondaira—one of Shizuoka's most famous scenic spots—in November, 2018. The observatory—the facility's main feature—consists of three floors. The first floor is an exhibition space introducing the history of Nihondaira through projection mapping and other exhibits. The second floor is a lounge, and the third floor is the observation floor. The airy observation deck has an octagonal observation gallery that is about 200 meters all the way round. It affords a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and Miho-no-Matsubara beyond Suruga Bay. It is becoming a popular sightseeing spot that introduces Shizuoka's diverse attractions and charms. What's more, in addition to Saturdays, the facility will extend its evening opening hours on Sundays and holidays from late April to early June as well, to coincide with the special night viewing of Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, a National Treasure located in the neighborhood. Admire Nihondaira's beautiful night view, which has been included in the Night View Inheritance of Japan (by YAKEI Convention & Visitors Bureau).
