Shizuoka Station
[Shimizu Minato Matsuri]
A summer festival enlivened with fireworks over the sea, and 20,000 people all dancing together
"Minato Kappore So-Odori" interlaces traditional dances with original dances like "Minato Kappore" (music by Ryudo Uzaki, lyrics by Yoko Aki), and is danced over two nights by some 20,000 people. The festival has lots of other events besides the dance, such as "Jirocho Dochu", a Shimizu specialty, and the "Kaijo Hanabi Taikai" ("Marine Fireworks Contest"), which boasts around 10,000 fireworks.
