Shizuoka Station

Mt. Fuji, tea plantations and Suruga Bay...With scenery like this, it has to be Shizuoka

This place has been designated as one of the nation's places of scenic beauty. Tea plantations and tangerine orchards spread out on a hillside which rises to 307 meters above sea level, and from the top of which visitors are treated to a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay and the Izu Peninsula. The magnificent sight of Suruga Bay beyond swathes of green tea plantations, with Mt. Fuji rising beyond that, is the very essence of "Shizuoka". There is a ropeway (cable car) between the hilltop and Mt. Kuno Tosho-gu Shrine, so it is very easy to visit both places in one trip.
