A hot spring area, Umegashima Hot Springs, is located in the upstream of Abe River that flows in Shizuoka-shi. This intermountain hot spring surrounded by abundant nature that change colors with the four seasons is one of the incredible places to view autumn foliage within Shizuoka-shi. In autumn, beech, maple, mongolian oak turn to vivid red and yellow. Enjoy bathing in the natural sulfur spring in the mysterious atmosphere surrounded by autumn leaves. The best time to visit is usually from early to late November.
