A World Heritage landscape where the legend of the celestial maiden's raiment was born

The ocean waves rushing ashore, the bright blue sky, and there stands Fujisan with poise behind the green of the pine grove. This is the legendary spot where the celestial maiden wearing a raiment has descended. Since ancient times, this scenic landscape has been depicted in many art forms such as poetry, paintings and ukiyo-e. The area has influenced many pieces of artwork, and has been registered as a World Heritage Asset.

Access Take the JR Tokaido Main Line for approx. 10 minutes from "Shizuoka Station" of JR Tokaido Shinkansen, alight at "Shimizu Station". Take the Shizutetsu Justline Miho Yamanote Line bound for Miho Shakomae for approx. 25 minutes, alight at "Miho no Matsubara Iriguchi" and walk for approx. 15 minutes.
