A zoo with more than 100 years of history, which opened in 1915.

Visitors can meet a wide range of animals including everyone's favorite, tigers, lions and koalas. Brief lectures by zookeepers and events such as "snack and meal time", where animals during meal time can be observed, are held to deepen the understanding of animals. The vast Tennoji Park including the zoo is a recreation place for the citizens.

Admission fee Adults 500 yen, elementary school students and junior high school students 200 yen
* Admission tickets are also available at convenience stores all over Japan (Seven-Eleven, Lawson, Mini Stop, Circle K, Sunkus and Family Mart).
Access (to Tensiba Gate): Take the Midosuji Line of Osaka Metro from "Shin-Osaka Station" of JR Tokaido Shinkansen for approx. 21 minutes. Alight at "Tennoji Station" and walk for approx. 5 minutes.
(to Shinsekai Gate): Take the Midosuji Line of Osaka Metro to from "Shin-Osaka Station" of JR Tokaido Shinkansen for approx. 20 minutes. Alight at "Dobutsuenmae Station" and walk for approx. 5 minutes.
