The third-oldest zoo in Japan that was opened in 1915
The zoo celebrates its 100th anniversary on January 1st, 2015. Visitors can meet a wide range of animals including everyone's favorite, elephants, lions and koalas. Brief lectures by zookeepers and events such as "snack and meal time", where animals during meal time can be observed, are held to deepen the understanding of animals.
