This is an artificial lake with a circumference of about 3.3 kilometers and depth of 8 meters, with Mt. Fuji rising above it due east. Mt. Fuji reflected in the lake surface is well a known sight, but the beautiful landscape formed by Mt. Fuji, the lake and the flowers and trees by the lakeside is a charm unique to the location, with spring blossoms, summer greenery and autumn leaves provided by varieties such as somei-yoshino and yamazakura cherry blossom trees and Japanese azaleas. There are also campsites, and outdoor leisure pursuits to enjoy such as bicycle rental and fishing for hera crucian carp can be enjoyed.

Access Take the Fujikyu Shizuoka Bus from "Shin-Fuji Station" of JR Tokaido Shinkansen for approx. 7 minutes and alight at "Fuji Station". Take the JR Minobu Line from JR "Fuji Station" for approx. 20 minutes and alight at "Fujinomiya Station". Take the bus bound for Kyukamura Fuji for approx. 45 minutes and alight at "Lake Tanuki Camp Ground".
