Shin-Fuji Station

[Yamamiya Sengen Shrine]

Goshintai, the object of worship believed to contain the spirit of deity, is Mt. Fuji. Put your hands together to the calm and grand appearance of Mt. Fuji

"Yamamiya Sengen Shrine", the predecessor to "Fujisan Hongu Sengentaisha", is part of the heritage of ancient Mt. Fuji worship. This remote shrine doesn't comprise a main hall, but rather exists simply as a place from which to worship Mt. Fuji directly as a goshintai just as people did in the olden days. It has been registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
