[Sawada Park Open-Air Bath]

Soak in this open-air hot spring bath and enjoy the view of the sun setting over the ocean

The Sawada Park Open-Air Bath is a hot spring bath sitting on the edge of a coastal cliff. The facility is run by the local town, and anyone can visit and take a bath. There is one bath each for men and women. Although the stone baths can only fit four to five people at a time, the view of Suruga Bay they command is splendid! There is nothing to disturb the view, and you can overlook Sanshiro Island in the Dogashima area, which is known for the "tombolo" phenomenon, and sightseeing boats and fishing ships that traverse across the sea. The highlight comes at dusk. Bathe your heart in the beauty of the setting sun sinking into the sea of Nishi-Izu. You can enjoy sunset views all year around as long as the weather permits, but visiting the spot in March and September will treat you to the perfect sunset, with the sun setting right before you.
