[Kariya Highway Oasis]

An amusement park? Here!? A highway rest area with lots of fun attractions

Kariya Highway Oasis is a rest area on a highway, but it is also an entertainment facility as fun as any theme park, and is regularly featured in the media. The facility's landmark is its Ferris wheel, but it also has go-carts, a merry-go-round, and other attractions that can be enjoyed at a reasonable price. There's also Kakitsubata, a natural hot spring spa (fee required), as well as a food court and a farmers' market. Also don't miss the chance to use the "deluxe restrooms" that have been covered by various media outlets. The ladies’ restroom is particularly elegant—it even has sofas.
