Even lining up is fun! Fresh and fluffy, the famous 'mame mochi'
Demachi Shopping Street is enveloped in the warm, inviting atmosphere of the old days. There, on that street, is Demachi Futaba, a long-established Japanese confectionery where customers are willing to stand in long lines to taste its delicious sweets. Demachi Futaba's Japanese confections, long loved by the local community, have become famous, and it is now a popular sweets shop visited by many tourists. The shop is lined with seasonal Japanese confections and daifuku. Among all the delicious treats, the most popular item is Myodai Mame Mochi, a mochi- and legume-based confection made with the best ingredients. Lightly salted red peas, fresh soft mochi, elegantly sweet and smooth adzuki bean paste—savor the blissful harmony of these flavors. The confections sell like hotcakes one after the other as soon as they are placed in the showcase, but one of the shop's perks is that you can buy fresh ones that have just been made in the back of the shop.
