It is said that samurai warriors would perform the traditional "kenbu", a dance with sword and fan while wearing traditional montsuki hakama, to focus and encourage themselves before going to into battle. The Samurai Kenbu Theater is becoming more and more popular, especially among foreign visitors, who have been flocking to the venue to experience the samurai spirit and sense of beauty and immerse themselves in "Japaneseness". And don't forget the "Samurai Kenbu Experience Trip", where you can put on traditional samurai clothes and learn about samurai manners and how to use a sword. |Access||Take the Kyoto City Bus bound for Ginkakuji / Iwakura from "Kyoto Station" of JR Tokaido Shinkansen for approx. 26 minutes, alight at "Sanjo-Keihan mae" and walk for approx. 3 minutes.

Take the Karasuma Line of Kyoto Municipal Subway from "Kyoto Station" of JR Tokaido Shinkansen for approx. 5 minutes, alight at "Karasumaoike Station". Take the Tozai Line of Kyoto Municipal Subway for approx. 4 minutes, alight at "Sanjo Keihan Station" and walk for approx. 1 minute.
