Okuoikojo Station (Oigawa Railway)

Reached on the Aputo-style train, which runs using toothed wheels, the "Okuoikojo Station" is the 9th station from "Senzu Station" on the Minami Alps Aputo Line (Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line). It feels as if it is floating on the surface of a secluded lake, and this mysterious station has become a hot topic recently as a photogenic spot. The station was moved from its original site to facilitate the construction of the Nagashima Dam upstream on the Oi River. The station is actually located on land that has been extended into the middle of the dam reservoir like a cape. Visitors can jump off the train at the station and enjoy a pleasant stroll. Ikawa Line is also famous for its steep route, in which the altitude increases by approx. 90 meters with every 1,000 meters of the ride. This is the steepest route in Japan. Spend some precious moments amid the blessings of the nature of Okuoi.
Posted photos Main Part of the scenery from the "Rainbow Bridge Observation Deck", accessible on foot from "Okuoikojo Station" via the walkway along the iron bridge.
Right If you are feeling robust, why not walk on to the next station, "Sessokyo Onsen Station", (approx. 90 minutes on foot)? (This photo was taken from the Rainbow Bridge Observation Deck)
