Mugitoro, and more! A restaurant specializing in yam cuisine

A shop where gloriously sticky, locally-produced yams can be eaten all year round. "Mugitoro" is a simple dish which combines aromatic yams, grated in their skins, and miso soup prepared with a stock made from dried bonito fish, and is so good you're bound to want seconds. The menu includes a whole range of yam dishes. Highlights include: "Miyama-maki", or yam wrapped in tuna; "Agetoro", in which the yam is wrapped in nori (seaweed) and deep fried; "Yamakake", tuna topped with yam; "Unatoro", which brings together yam and unagi (eel); and "Tororo Steak", which is a dish cooked on a hot plate (teppan).
