Hamamatsu Station

A new local specialty made by grilling oysters from Lake Hamana with the sauce used for eels

"Kakikabadon" has been created as the new local specialty of Lake Hamana, which has been a site of oyster farming since 1887. Lake Hamana is known as a brackish lake where seawater and fresh water mix, and the oysters raised there feature a rich flavor and plump texture. Kakikabadon is a dish made of rice topped with these oysters grilled with the soy-based sauce for eels, and garnished with local onion, seaweed, and tangerine peel.
