[Kinchoen Sohonke]
Savor freshly-made traditional local confectionery
"Kinchoen Manju" featuring a slight sake taste and simple sweetness has long been loved as a traditional local confectionery. It is made by wrapping bean paste prepared using plenty of underground water from Ogaki, known as the city of water, with dough made with sake yeast. Another popular confectionery among the various delights that evoke the changing seasons is the "Mizu Manju", which is only available during summer. The sight of Mizu Manju in sake cups chilling in the storefront water tanks is a traditional summer scene in Ogaki City.
