With a large puffer fish sign hanging out the front, this restaurant specializes in puffer fish cuisine, using only domestic tiger puffer fish. Osaka consumes about 60 percent of the total puffer fish caught in Japan, and puffer fish cuisine has become one of Osaka's specialties. The reason for this is because Osaka is relatively close to the puffer fish production area, and there are many chefs possessing the license required by law to cook the lethally poisonous puffer fish, which has led to the increase in establishments offering puffer fish cuisine. The high-end food ingredient, puffer fish is eaten as an everyday food in Osaka. Puffer fish can be enjoyed in various ways: as sashimi, deep-fried, or in a hotpot.
