The Sakura Matsuri envelops the whole town with the castle town mood

The Odawara Sakura Matsuri, which castle enthusiasts look forward to, is held when the 320 or so somei-yoshino trees start to bloom. You will see events and a procession of small children during the festival, and the whole town is enveloped in a castle town mood. First, look at the sakura along the moat, and then go over the vermilion Manabi Bridge, and aim for the castle tower. The splendid juxtaposition of the pretty sakura flowers that come into sight with the dignified castle tower is the number one highlight. The scenery at night changes to a chic style with the bombori lanterns lit. People look forward to finding out what kind of scenery they will encounter on any given day, at any given time.
