[Fukuroi Enshu Fireworks All Japan Fireworks Master's Invitational Competition]
A truly gorgeous fireworks show combining traditional expertise with state-of-the-art technology
Fukuroi Enshu Fireworks is one of the largest fireworks festivals in Japan and sees some 25 thousand fireworks let off in total. It coincides with a fireworks competition featuring artisans famed for their expertise and artistic quality selected from all over Japan, and in 2016, 400 thousand people came to watch. The festival is packed full of highlights, such as the music and fireworks fusion show, "Japan's Melody Starmine"; the color-changing fireworks that replicate Mt. Fuji, "The Great Niagara Fuji Falls in the Sky"; and the approx. 300 meter-long stretch of fireworks that shakes the whole venue, "Japan's No. 1 Jumbo Wide Starmine". Among them, "Dramatic Fireworks" has recently become popular. This year features fireworks based on the theme of Naotora Ii. The name of the fireworks venue originates from the Nukina clan, a branch clan of the Ii Family.
