Shiosai-bashi | Japan Highlights Travel, for sightseeing around Tokaido

Kakegawa Station

[Shiosai-bashi]

Needless to say, the Enshunada seascape is a must-see, but the structure and design of the bridge are also well worth a look

The bridge built over the Kiku River estuary flows into Enshunada, and is exclusively for bicycles and pedestrians. It is 232 meters long, 3 meters wide, with a shipping lane height of 9.5 meters. The beautiful scenery of Enshunada from the bridge is very popular, but its length means it can also boast being the longest "hanging floor slab"-type bridge in Japan. The structure is very rare around the world. The bridge's design attracts attention, too. The beautiful bridge with its fluent reverse arch can be seen from the river and National Route 150.
