[Iinoya Castle Remains]

The Ii family's base that Naotora made her home during the war years

Alight at the "Iinoya" bus stop and walk up the occasionally steep slopes for about 20 minutes to the top of a small hill, where you arrive at the remains of the Ii family's castle residence. During the Sengoku period, the Ii family residence consisted of the Iinoya Castle, the estate at the foot of the hill, and Mitake Castle. The castle is known for its chatelaine, Ii Naotora, who took charge in order to protect her family. Today, the site has been developed into a castle park where you can see remains including the mount. Why not make time for a visit to the various points of interest related to the Ii family, including the Iinoya Castle Remains, Ryotan-ji Temple, and Lord Tomoyasu's birth well?
