Lake Hamana, which is almost in the middle of Japan, is a brackish lake where seawater and fresh water mix. The lake is known for raising speciality eels, soft-shelled turtles and seaweed. The warm weather throughout the year and the well-known hot springs in the surrounding areas attract a large number of people. There are many enjoyable activities such as leisure on the lake, nature observation, and visits to famous temples. The beautiful sunset overlooking from the lake is magnificent.
