Enjoy rare catfish dishes
In and around Hashima, Gifu between Kiso River and Nagara River, catfish eating habit is rooted from a long time ago. At "Yamato Honten", a long-established river fish restaurant, opened almost 100 years ago, where such rare catfish dishes are served at a reasonable prices, the "Catfish lunch" is most popular. Broiled catfish which has tender meat with light taste, sometimes rated higher than eels, can be tasted. It is served with a secret sauce kept secret since inception.
