A restaurant directly run by a dried fish store with over 150 years of history
A Japanese restaurant directly run by a dried fish store which was established more than 150 years ago, at the end of the Edo period. This restaurant is popular among tourists as a place to relish homemade dried fish and fresh local seafood. The most popular item is the "Himono Teishoku" (dried fish set). This is fish dried by the sun and sea breeze of Atami, then grilled with the skill of a pro so the outside gets nice and crisp while the inside stays soft and juicy. "Kamatsuru Gozen" can be warmly recommended for dinner. In one set enjoy all the flavors of which the establishment is so justly proud, such as sashimi of local fish freshly caught on the day and golden-eye bream (a deep-sea delicacy) prepared in soy sauce.
